What is the Smokin’ midge and who needs it?

Looking for a midge repellent, that is non toxic, smells good and that you don’t have to rub onto your skin?.. then the Smokin’ Midge is the answer for you. The Smokin’ Midge works by releasing a small trail of smoke from specialised CLAVA cones. This disguises the CO2 in your breath and they just can’t find you. No biting and no annoying midges swarming around you. Wear it on your arm when walking about or on a table when sitting outside.

Who needs a Smokin’ Midge? Well, anyone who lives in, or is holidaying in Scotland and according to reports and feedback, further a field in the UK depending on the weather conditions and time of year. When do midges bite? These wee beasties are most active late Spring into Autumn, so if you are planning to spend time outdoors at this time, you’ll need to be prepared.

Who makes it?

The Smokin’ Midge was actually invented by a keen salmon angler from the Highlands of Scotland. He was disheartened at so many wonderful days on the river, being ruined by midges and he made the product primarily for himself. He wore it on the river and since it clearly worked more and more people became interested and the business just grew. It has now been used in many situations beyond fishing, such as gardening, hiking, camping and golfing. As well as keeping the midges at bay, users have reported success with repelling mosquitoes and wasps too.
